Learning a second language or a foreign language is not that difficult. If you want to learn a foreign language you must have a true love for that language, people & culture rest is easy. To learn just the conversational language you need to practice with the native speakers.
I love people, languages is foreign cultures so therefore I speak few languages. Some I learned from my friends others in the school. thanks Mr Nice this is very good..
I am not interested in counting to ten or a million in Russian.
But the effort you have been to in expounding all these numbers and the white Russian then finaly the map. Well that is beyond the call of duty.
Concratualations.
Flash cards are a good way to learn elements of many subjects and I see you have linked to some freeware offering just that. The fact that audio is linked as well is very good. I will use this link for practice. I may try Spanish in this manner, because that is one language I simply cannot grasp, so far. Thanks very much for the links! What other lanaguages do you speak?
Great hub. Counting is the first thing i like to learn when learning a new language. I dont quiet know why. I guess its the easiest thing to associate. Great hub who knows maybe I will be counting I Russian soon.
On Croatian we count: Jedan, dva, tri, ?etiri, pet, šest, sedam, osam, devet, deset...jedanaest, dvanaest, trinaest, ?etrnaest, petnaest, šestnaest....I think we might understand each other....don`t we?
Love & Light
odin-jedan, pyat'-pet, sem'-sedam, vosem'-osam... pretty close :)
And yes, of course we can - to some extent. I had a Croatian girlfriend, and man it was hard :D
Poor Misha, now I know why you become the Saint!!! While having Croatian gf!!! Ha, ha, ha, ha.... We are not easy to handle, not at all. Consider that as practising of equality he, he....
About counting:numbers sound almost the same, Misha, believe me...
OK, in Zagreb (capital of Croatia) and sorrunding, we say Kak si and Kaj delaš.. Anyhow I never had problems while speaking with Russians...We did understand each other pretty well (not perfect, but a little of telepathy helped) Happy Holidays to you guys as well
My sister would like this one because she is interested in independently studying French and Russian.
I have always wanted to learn Russian and I enjoyed the drink list considering we do have a few summer parties, are you saying I look like Mila?? My Avatar is my Avatar my hubby has a massive one of me on the wall. You certainly have great taste. ((((Big Hugs))):)
I would say I look a little like Anna too, if only I made the megabucks , nursing compared to that , well I do get satisfaction. I enjoyed both of your articles. :):)
Aaaaawwww, I am glad that I am cute at least I know you were thinking about me. Wait until I tell my husband, as he has said that too, but I never believed it. I guess until someone points it out , someone you don't know then you realize that it is the truth. Yes we do make good money, but nothing close to the two above..LOLOLOL When I hit the lottery I will defintely let you know, but I bet I will still nurse. :)
